Relationships Built in College through Church
College is the time in our lives where we will make the ultimate decisions that will affect us the rest of our lives. It’s very important to surround ourselves with other believers to help us and guide us along the path marked with Christ and not with the world. I started attending Grace as soon as I moved to Clarksville last year, and was very fortunate to come in at a time when the college ministry was getting started, walking into the very first gathering to meet people and just hang out I didn’t know a single person, but was introduced to a couple girls and from that moment on we’ve pretty much been inseparable. These girls have become my best friends, they are people who pray for me, hold me accountable and are genuinely interested in my life and walk with Christ. These are my lifelong friends, the ones that are reliable, and are chasing after the same thing I am, the heart of God. Through the college ministry I’ve also been extremely blessed by the leaders and their investment in me. The opportunities that I’ve been given through them will ever change my life. I am challenged by these relationships to grow closer to God. We each bring different experiences, struggles, and advice to the table, and are able to help each other and pray for each other and love each other. These relationships remind me daily that I serve a God bigger then my struggle for a grade, bigger then the struggles of my flesh, and bigger then death. Without these people, college life would be so much harder. It’s so awesome to have friends who are trekking on the same journey I am and face the same struggles I face, but instead of ‘partying’ to fix our problems, we seek Jesus, the fixer of all things, when everyone else in the world fails us, He never will. I’m more then grateful to be able to cling to them as we all cling tighter to the awesome almighty God.
