Grace Partnering with Parents

I just got back from a Family Ministry conference and there was lots of talk about how we (GCC) can partner with parents to help their kids grow in faith and character. One of the things that stood out to me was the fact that:

· We, as a church have approximately 40 hours a year to influence the children in our ministry.

· Parents have over 3000 hours a year to influence their children.

· If we partner with our parents, we can combine our influence for greater impact!

How cool is that, instead of church and family working on separate islands, what if we came together and taught the kids TOGETHER!!

As our family ministries grow here at Grace, you will begin to see more ways that you as a parent can partner with us, but I want to share a few that already exist in Cross Street (our K-5th grade ministry)

It all starts with being aware of what we are teaching your child:

Talk with your child’s small group leader about visiting Cross Street one Sunday so you can see what our ministry is all about, or better yet volunteer to serve.

Go to

www.gcomkids.com often and use the info there to help you continue teaching them throughout the month.

Use the "God Time" Card you receive each week to help your child develop a devotional time and learn how to have a personal relationship with God. (use 4 days/wk)

Post the "Refrigerator Door" card you receive each week in your home and review it with your child.

If you have any questions about Cross Street or would like to serve in our environment contact us at office@gcomchurch.com
