Global Missions

At Grace Community Church, serving is a major part of our strategy to Gather, Connect and Serve. As you might have noticed on our Volunteer Page, there are many opportunities for you to use your gifts to serve people on Sunday mornings. Hundreds of people join forces each weekend to demonstrate the love of Jesus at these gatherings. But volunteering on Sundays is not the only way to serve. God has given us the opportunity to make a difference in our city and around the world. This is what we call missions.

Guatemala - Partnership with Compassion International

Grace Community Church is partnering with an organization called Compassion International to help them provide Guatemalan children with the opportunity to rise above their circumstances and become all God has created them to be. We will be sending teams to Guatemala City to partner with local churches in this area. Take action fight poverty in Guatemala, by sponsoring a child today!

Compassion's Mission Statement:
“In response to the Great Commission, Compassion International exists as an advocate for children, to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults."

Costa Rica

GCC has been blessed to support the missionary efforts of Jason and Kerby Harpst. The Harpsts have been a part of the Grace family for a few years. Not long ago, they sensed God leading them to leave their family, friends, and belongings and begin a new life in Costa Rica.

Jason and Kerby work with the Abraham Project, which has been in existence since 1998. They live about 35 minutes southeast of the capital city of San Jose. Grace is committed to assisting this ministry in any way it can.

Volunteer teams that travel to Costa Rica can expect to assist in children’s homes, teach the English language to community residents, share the hope that is found in Jesus, and partner with local churches.

If you wish to contact Jason and Kerby to encourage them or to ask specific questions about their work, send an email to todalagentecr@gmail.com or call 810-252-8934.
