A Word from Chad & Ron

"Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."  Those three simple commands from Micah 6:8 help guide us when we lose our way, and when we become overwhelmed.  To say that the community of Clarksville is overwhelmed right now would be an understatement.  We are overwhelmed by loss, fear, uncertainty, and a lack of resources.  The only thing we can do right now is to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with...God."  Doing justice is less about punishing the guilty and much more about helping those who are in need.  This is our time GCC family.

Nothing really changes right now with our mission, vision, and strategy.  It has always been to Gather to worship God, Commit to one another, and Serve all people.  We just may need to emphasize the Serve part even more.  We are confident that this will happen.  Why?  GCC has deservedly earned a reputation for being the church family that helps.

Today, at the gym, someone came up to me (Chad) and said, "Well, I guess your church is about to get busy."  I asked what he meant.  He said, "You guys always seem to be the first to show up in times like these. I'm assuming nothing's changed."

He was right.  And no.  Nothing's changed.  We will be there again.

As you discover needs in the community, direct them to www.gcomchurch.com where they will find a "flood relief assistance form."  We are in the process of assembling volunteers and look forward to coming alongside those in need and being the hands and feet of  Jesus.

So...

* Pray for the rebuilding of our community
* Pray for those who experienced personal and financial loss
* Be ready to serve!
* Expect great things to happen as God works through us all

WE ARE SO PROUD TO SERVE WITH YOU,

Chad and Ron
